Question: What's a home remedy for asthma?

I heard that putting saline solution inside a nebulizer works well but it kind of made it worse. I ran out of my inhaler and have nothing else to use. Has anyone had success with short term home remedies for asthma?

It depends on the severity of the attack. Obviously, for a severe attack the "home remedy " would be to use your home phone to call 911. Saline would help treat one aspect of asthma, the mucous plugging but would have no effect on the airway spasms or the swelling, There are all kinds of people who will suggest many different concoctions that they say will help. The best thing you can do is prevent an attack or have treatment close at hand at all times. You never know what might seem minor at first turn into a full blown, life threatening attack. Coffee, as suggested before does work, to a degree. But don't waste time brewing a pot of coffee when you're in distress. Get help

Drink coffee. Caffeine is very similar to a bronchodilator.
