Question: What are some healthy diets that promote longevity? also, which types of ethnic foods are healthiest?

I'm a college student. Needless to say, I don't cook much and I really don't see myself cooking until I graduate- - unless I can get some advice on how to cook healthy and quickly... or marry a cook. Honestly, I just don't have the time to put much thought into preparing food. What are some healthy diets out there? I'm not looking to lose weight. I'm looking to begin a new and healthier lifestyle. I just watched a clip on Ikaria, Greece and am wondering if anyone knows anything about it? I eat out for most of my meals except for breakfast and snacks. What are some types of ethnic restaurants known to be healthy? And more specifically, which foods at those restaurants are particularly healthy? I am half arabic, half italian and love mediterranean food more than anything else, but have no idea about the nutritional benefits of the foods. For all I know, I could be eating the fattiest foods on the menu. I'm also really big on sushi and Japanese food. I love fish of all kinds. Any discussion on diet would be appreciated. I know that this is not so much a pointed question as it is a stream- of- consciousness on my part. Just looking for others to share their experiences with nutrition and diets. |
